CORPORATE MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERN

General Summary:
Advanced Disposal seeks an intern to assist the Marketing and Public Relations department in day-to-day activities. The internship will provide the intern with valuable, real-world experience. Requirements:
Interns must be actively enrolled in a university public relations, marketing, advertising, communications or business program and have a minimum of junior standing. The ideal candidate is an organized, motivated, multi-tasking team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills who can work with minimal supervision. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Interns will work 20 hours per week in an office environment.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Draft basic public relations materials including press releases
  • Assist with the development and updating of media lists and other databases  
  • Maintain and update contract database and corresponding hard copy contract books
  • Assist with the content and editing of the company newsletter
  • Maintain company news clipping file and write monthly press recaps
  • Assist the Marketing Manager with event planning and special projects
  • Conduct research on industry issues and other topics as needed
  • Participate in off-site marketing and public relations events such as community clean-ups, company sponsorships, etc.
  • Assist with administrative duties including fax processing, mailings and other administration functions as assigned
  • Draft content for company website and perform monthly content reviews to account for growth, changes and accuracy
  • Perform miscellaneous office duties as needed
  • Reports to the Marketing Manager
