Senior Management Overview

Charles C. Appleby — Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Appleby served as Director, President and CFO of Advanced Disposal since inception before becoming CEO in August 2006. Mr. Appleby also served as President of CAVCO, a private investment company, where he was responsible for the securities portfolio, detailed analysis and review of potential investment opportunities and administration operations from 1996 through June 2004. Prior to his service with CAVCO, Mr. Appleby was a founding member of Grenadier, Appleby, Collins & Company, a Jacksonville, Florida accounting firm, formed in 1984, providing services with an emphasis on taxation matters, mergers and acquisitions, valuations and foreign transactions. Previously, Mr. Appleby held positions with various national accounting firms, the last of which was Coopers & Lybrand where he held the position of Tax Manager. He received Masters and Bachelors degrees in Business Administration from Stetson University in 1977, and a Bachelors degree in Political Science from University of Florida in 1970. Mr. Appleby is a certified public accountant in Florida. Mr. Appleby is also a retired Colonel, Florida Army National Guard, selected for promotion to Brigadier General. He retired on August 1, 2001, after 31 years of service in the U.S. Armed forces. During this period, he received numerous decorations and achievements, including the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, the Florida Cross, Senior Parachutist, Ranger and Pathfinder.
Walter H. Hall, Jr. — President and Chief Operating Officer Mr. Hall joined Advanced Disposal at its inception, and currently serves as President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining the Company, he served as the Jacksonville Area President of Southland Waste Systems from 1998 to 2000. From 1996 to 1998, he served as District Manager for Southland in Middle, Georgia. Before his employment with Southland, Mr. Hall worked for Browning Ferris Industries for approximately seven years, holding positions as Operations Manager, Birmingham, Alabama, Assistant Regional Operations Manager, Atlanta, Georgia, District Manager of North Atlanta and District Manager, Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Hall’s responsibilities in these positions included, among other things, oversight of sales and marketing, fleet maintenance and operations, and employee training and development. He received a Bachelors degree in Education in 1979 and a Bachelors Degree in English and History in 1980 from Mississippi College.
Steven R. Carn — Chief Financial Officer Mr. Carn joined Advanced Disposal in April 2001 and served as Chief Accounting Officer until August 2006 and currently serves as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Carn served for three years as CFO of Town Star Food Stores, LLC (“Town Star”), a convenience store business with over $30 million in annual revenues. Prior to his service with Town Star, Mr. Carn served as Senior Consultant with CFO Services, Inc., a company engaged primarily in providing temporary chief financial officer services to emerging companies in the Jacksonville, Florida area. He began his career as an accountant with Ernst & Young in 1987. Mr. Carn graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration in 1987. Mr. Carn is a certified public accountant in Ohio.
Mary M. O’Brien — Chief Marketing Officer Ms. O’Brien joined Advanced Disposal in February 2001 and currently serves as the Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing all marketing efforts of the Advanced Disposal Services and its subsidiaries with locations throughout the Southeast. Ms. O’Brien’s responsibilities include municipal market development, advertising, government relations and public relations. In addition, Ms. O’Brien’s duties include incorporating new market research development and entry strategy, database management, state and local permitting, volume growth analysis, and industry networking. Ms. O’Brien received her B.B.A. Marketing, Minor in English from James Madison University.
Steven I. Del Corso — Chief Accounting Officer Mr. Del Corso has served as Chief Accounting Officer for Advanced Disposal since August 2006 and is responsible for the Company's accounting, audit, tax, budget and acquisition integration functions. Mr. Del Corso joined Advanced Disposal as Corporate Controller in January 2003 and served in that capacity through August 2006. From August 2001 to January 2003, Mr. Del Corso served as Accounting Manager for Trailerbridge, Inc. From September 1996 to August 2001 Mr. Del Corso provided audit services for various accounting firms including Ernst & Young, LLP. Mr. Del Corso is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.B.A. degree in Accounting from Hofstra University.
 Christian Mills – General Counsel Christian B. Mills joined Advanced Disposal in September 2007 as Vice President – General Counsel. Ms. Mills was previously a Corporate and Securities Associate with Dewey & LeBoeuf, LLP. Prior to joining Dewey & LeBoeuf, Ms. Mills served as an Assistant General Counsel with the City of Jacksonville Office of General Counsel until 2005. She is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar and the Jacksonville Bar Association. Ms. Mills attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida as an undergraduate and received her Juris Doctor in December 2000 from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law in Gainesville, Florida.

Randall Arnold – Director of Operations
Mr. Arnold joined Advanced Disposal in 2007 as a result of Advanced Disposal’s acquisition of Urrutia, Inc. (dba Arrow Disposal Service) where he served as Senior Vice President of Operations. Prior to that time Mr. Arnold served in leadership roles throughout the southeast for Allied Waste Industries (dba Browning Ferris Industries) including interim SE Assistant Region Vice President, District Manager, and SE Area Operations Manager. Mr. Arnold’s experience includes tenure with Waste Management, Inc. performing duties as a Division President and the Mid- South Region’s Director of Operations. Mr. Arnold began his career in the solid waste industry in 1991 following his graduation from The University of Alabama’s School Of Commerce and Business Administration with a B.S. in Management.
Vice Presidents
 Gerald M. Allen, Jr. — Vice President — Landfills Mr. Allen joined Advanced Disposal in August 2001 and serves as the Vice President of the Company’s landfill operations. Mr. Allen has been in the environmental services business since 1980. Mr. Allen has held positions in the environmental compliance and landfill operations with companies such as Republic Services Group, Waste Management of Mississippi, Inc. and Chemical Waste Management, Inc.
 Charles N. Gray – Regional Vice President – Georgia, North Carolina & South Carolina Mr. Gray Joined Advanced Disposal in March 2001 and serves as Regional Vice President. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Gray was in the environmental services business for over eight years and held managerial positions in both Georgia and Florida with Republic Services Group and Browning Ferris Industries. Mr. Gray received a Master of Science degree in School Administration in 1985 from Nicholls State University and Bachelors of Science degree in Health and Physical Education in 1983 from the University of Arkansas - Monticello.
 David A. Lavender – Regional Vice President – Alabama, Florida & Mississippi Mr. Lavender joined Advanced Disposal in October 2004 and serves as Regional Vice President. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Lavender was in the environmental services business for over nine years and has held managerial positions in both Georgia and Florida with Waste Management and Browning Ferris Industries. Mr. Lavender received his Bachelors in Business Administration in 1992 from the Georgia Southern University.
Eric D. “Poncho” James — Vice President — Recycling Mr. James joined Advanced Disposal in 2009 when the company he founded, Sumrall Recycling Services, was acquired by Advanced Disposal. He grew Sumrall Recycling to $14 million in annual revenues and operated five Material Recovery Facilities (MRF) in the Southeast before joining Advanced Disposal. As Vice President – Recycling, Mr. James maintains executive oversight for all strategic recycling projects in the Southeastern U.S. including eight MRFs owned and operated by Advanced Disposal, processing approximately 500 tons per day of both commingled and sorted recycling streams.
George Sides – Vice President – Sales
Mr. Sides joined Advanced Disposal in 2001 and currently serves as Vice President – Sales and has more than 19 years of industry experience working in both operations and sales roles. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Sides worked as General Manager for Southland Waste Systems of Georgia. He holds Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida.
Marti Dickman – Vice President – Risk Management
Mrs. Dickman joined Advanced Disposal in 2006 and serves as Vice President – Risk Management and has more than 22 years of risk management experience. Prior to joining the company, Mrs. Dickman worked as Assistant Vice President at Hilb, Rogal, & Hobbs in Norfolk, Virginia and Risk Manager for Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. She holds a Bachelors of Computer Sciences from the University of Maryland.
Glenn Guest – Vice President – Corporate Human Resources
Mr. Guest joined Advanced Disposal in 2006 and serves as Vice President – Corporate Human Resources and has more than 23 years of human resources experience. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Guest worked as Director, Corporate Human Resources for Arnold Transportation Services in Jacksonville, Florida. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Jacksonville University.
