You're A Municipal Customer If...
your local government selected your solid waste provider for you. Please select your city/town and county to view your garbage guidelines and holiday schedule.

Guidelines for Curbside Garbage Service

Curbside Garbage Service

  • Pickup once per week.
  • Garbage must be placed curbside the night before collection day, or prior to 7 a.m. or 6:00 am for rural stops on the scheduled day of collection.
  • Place all garbage in provided cart. Place cart at least 3 feet away from any other object such as mailbox, car, other cart, etc.
  • Items NOT accepted for pickup include: hazardous waste.

Curbside Recycling Service

  • Pickup once every other week.
  • Recyclables must be placed curbside the night before, or prior to 7 a.m. or 6:00 am for rural stops  on the scheduled day of collection.

How to prepare:

  • Lids left on bottles and cans can be recycled.
  • Rinse cans, bottles and jars.
  • No need to remove labels.
  • No Styrofoam.
  • Items accepted for pickup include: newspaper, newspaper inserts, magazines, phone books, catalogs, old training manuals, junk mail, envelopes, file folders, paperback books, office and school papers (all colors), fax sheets, brown paper bags, corrugated cardboard (please flatten, bundle and cut to 3’x3’x1’), box board (cereal, cake, cracker, tissue and show boxes), aluminum cans, tin and steel cans, glass jars (three colors only, brown, green and clear), all food and beverage plastics (labeled #1-#7), milk, juice and soup cartons.
  • Most common contaminates.
  • Please avoid placing the following containers in the recycling.
  • Pizza boxes with food residue.
  • Oil containers with residue.
  • Plastics without a recycle symbol or above #7 grade.
  • Remember, flattening your cardboard and paperboard saves space and energy.
  • Extra cardboard boxes must be flattened, tied into bundles no more than three feet long by three feet wide by one foot tall.
  • Please place next to your recycling cart.

Bulk Waste Service

  • Bulk waste pickup is picked up on your scheduled trash day with a phone call to customer service to schedule.
  • Bulk waste must be placed curbside the night before, or prior to 7 a.m. or 6:00 am for rural on the scheduled day of collection.

 

Holiday Schedule

There will be no pickup on the following holidays:
New Year’s Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day

Routes will be pushed back by one day following a holiday 
For example, if Christmas Day is Tuesday and your normal service day is Wednesday, you will be serviced on Thursday. Customers who are normally serviced on Friday of that week will be serviced on Saturday.

Guidelines for Commercial Garbage Service

All Containers

Containers must not be blocked and trucks must have access to provide service. 

Please make sure waste is contained, within safe capacity levels and not overflowing. Drivers may not be able to service overloaded containers. 

Please do not place any hazardous materials in container. This includes: any waste solid or liquid waste material resulting from the manufacturing or use of pesticides, highly flammable or explosive wastes, caustic wastes, toxic wastes, and any other material that the Health Authority determines to be a likely hazard to the public health, safety or environment. 

Containers must be placed and remain on a hard, level surface and must be secure. 

The placement of enclosures and containers can have a direct effect on safety.  An improperly placed enclosure or container may lead to accident, injury, or property damage.  Check with your Advanced Disposal representative to ensure safe placement.

Additional Guidelines for Roll-off Containers

Containers may not be loaded above the top of the container and the weight must be evenly distributed. 

Thirty (30) yard containers may not be used for concrete, dirt, stumps, bricks or any other heavy materials. 

Twenty (20) yard containers must be used for very heavy loads and may be filled only half full.  

Preferred maximum weight of 20,000 lbs. varies by state regulations.
