Advanced Disposal Services, Inc., a regional integrated environmental services company, has completed the acquisition of the Florida assets of Trash Prince, Inc. d/b/a Trash Taxi. This acquisition in Polk County expands the Florida-headquartered company’s footprint in the Central Florida marketplace.
Trash Taxi provides solid waste collection services to the residents and businesses of the City of Ft. Meade and other residential subscription customers as well as hundreds of commercial frontload and roll-off customers throughout Polk, Pasco and Orange Counties. The asset purchase included the customer contracts, containers, and nine trucks of Trash Taxi as well as a long-term lease of the office and maintenance facility located at 298 American Spirit Road, Winter Haven, Florida. Advanced Disposal will strengthen the well-know quality service reputation of Trash Taxi with additional financial capital, safety and training resources, and a commitment to a cleaner, greener community.
“Adding Trash Taxi and its employees to our solid waste and recycling team here in Florida is an exciting and beneficial opportunity for Advanced Disposal as it grows our Florida footprint and positions the company to respond quickly and effectively to a rebound in the economy,” said Advanced Disposal’s Florida Area President Dave Lavender. “Our goal is to build upon Trash Taxi’s great reputation and carry on both companies’ strong tradition of quality service and commitment to the community. Customers can be assured they will continue to receive the most responsive and environmentally responsible solid waste and recycling services possible.”
Curtis Agius and Russell Hicks, former owners and operators of Trash Taxi, join the Advanced Disposal team and will work to ensure continued excellence in service. Advanced Disposal has already created and maintained an outstanding company reputation in its other Southeastern marketplaces and the plans for Polk County, Florida are no different. Additionally, Advanced Disposal was one of only three companies who submitted a proposal on March 10, 2010, to service Polk County’s 140,000 home residential solid waste and recycling collection contract, one of the largest single collection contracts in the State.
