Advanced Disposal Services, Inc. today announced the acquisition of Excel Waste assets, including a construction and demolition materials recycling facility (MRF). This acquisition in the greater Nashville area is the second in so many weeks as the company quickly grows its presence in the Middle Tennessee market.

Advanced Disposal, a regional integrated environmental services company, is proving its commitment to keeping their newest market cleaner and greener by adding the MRF, which will accept construction and demolition recycling materials.

Excel Waste has provided solid waste hauling and disposal services to more than 150 mostly commercial customers in the Middle Tennessee area since 2004. Advanced Disposal will continue the commitment to quality customer service that Excel Waste has established and expects to bring greater success to existing and future customers through growth and greater access to capital.

“With the acquisition of this C&D recycling facility, we will give our commercial customers the ability to bid on LEED certified projects because they know that they have a waste and recycling partner in Advanced Disposal helping them reach their goals of waste reduction and sustainability throughout their business,” said Advanced Disposal’s Mid-South Area President Gerald Greene. “We are committed to being good stewards to the environment and are pleased to be making this commitment to our newest market.”

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification is the recognized standard for measuring building sustainability. Achieving LEED certification is the best way for a company to demonstrate that its building project is truly "green."

Excel Waste Owners Dean and Jennifer Banks will turn their focus on their retaining wall business. Six of their excellent and loyal employees including Dean's brother, Richard Banks, will join the Advanced Disposal team. Advanced Disposal has already created and maintained an outstanding company reputation in its other Southeastern marketplaces, and the plans for Nashville, Tenn. are no different.
