Advanced Disposal and Interstate Waste Now Operating Under the Advanced Disposal Name
Advanced Disposal Services, Inc., an integrated environmental services company, announces the combination of Interstate Waste Services into its operations. Effective September 1, Advanced Disposal Services has officially assumed managerial and financial control of Interstate Waste Services.
Interstate Waste and Advanced Disposal, both portfolio companies of Highstar Capital, owned through Star Atlantic Waste Holdings II, LP (“Star Atlantic”), have historically operated independent of each other. On September 1, the companies were consolidated and began working together under the Advanced Disposal name.
“While this milestone moves us on our way to become the largest privately-held solid waste company in North America, we remain committed to our foremost goal of being the best in the business,” said Charlie Appleby, chairman and chief executive officer of Advanced Disposal. “We look forward to working with our customers, employees and community partners as we grow Advanced Disposal’s footprint in the Northeast.”
“We are excited to officially be operating in six Northeastern states and welcome all of the Interstate Waste employees to the Advanced Disposal team,” said Dave Lavender, east regional vice president for Advanced Disposal. “We wish all Interstate Waste customers to rest assured that their contracts are still valid, and their drivers and sales representatives are still there to serve them with dependable, quality service.”
On July 18, Star Atlantic signed a definitive agreement to acquire Veolia ES Solid Waste with the close expected to come this Fall. The combination of Advanced Disposal and Interstate Waste is an integral step in that process. After closing, the three companies will operate under the Advanced Disposal name. The new consolidated Advanced Disposal, post Veolia closing, will operate in 20 states and the Bahamas, service more than 1.8 million residential customers and more than 200,000 commercial and industrial customers, and generate an estimated $1.4 billion in annual revenues. It will be the largest privately-held environmental services company in North America.
