DAVIS JUNCTION, Ill.
For the third straight season, Advanced Disposal – Rockford partnered with a Rockford area high school football team to “End Hunger in the End Zone.” Advanced Disposal, an integrated environmental services company, agreed that for each touchdown the Marengo High School Indians scored at home in the 2012 football season, the company would donate $50 to the M.O.R.E. Center (Marengo area OutReach Enterprises), an organization which aides needy individuals and families in the Marengo community. The team’s effort this season yielded $500 for the center.
“We have a great relationship with Marengo High School,” said Cris Manley, General Manager of Advanced Disposal – Rockford, located in Davis Junction, Ill. “Which is why we are excited to form a partnership that combines the enjoyment of watching the Indians score touchdowns while helping those in need.”
The “End Hunger in the End Zone” partnership, which included Stillman Valley High School in past seasons, was originally developed by Manley and Bruce Knapp, general manager of Advanced Disposal’s Orchard Hills Landfill. Together, the divisions provide solid waste hauling and disposal services to municipal, commercial and industrial customers in the region.
