Advanced Disposal, an integrated environmental services company, is giving fans of Marengo High School one more reason to “root, root, root for the home team.”

Advanced Disposal – Rockford and Orchard Hills Landfill are partnering with the school’s softball players to “Run Out Hunger” in the Marengo area. Advanced Disposal has agreed that for every run the Marengo High School softball team scores at home during the 2013 season, the company will donate $10 to the M.O.R.E. Center (Marengo area OutReach Enterprises), an organization which aides needy individuals and families in the Marengo community. The team is off to a great start having already raised $110 in only the first three home games of the season.

“For three seasons, we successfully partnered with area football and baseball teams to benefit local not-for-profit organizations,” said Cris Manley, Advanced Disposal general manager. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the softball team this spring in a way that creates added excitement around the games and aids the community we all call home.”

Dan Bertrand, superintendent at Marengo High School said that his students are eager to have a successful season that benefits others. “The girls are excited to have the chance to earn money for M.O.R.E so they can serve more needy families in our community,” he said.
