Governor Rick Scott Dedicates Advanced Disposal's Corporate Headquarters
Northeast Florida to Remain Home of the Largest Privately-Owned Environmental Services Company in the U.S.
PONTE VEDRA, Fla.
Jul 08, 2013

Florida Governor Rick Scott, along with government officials, community leaders and employees, officially dedicated Advanced Disposal’s corporate headquarters at 90 Fort Wade Rd. today in Ponte Vedra. The Northeast Florida corporate office houses 122 employees for the largest, privately-owned environmental services company in the U.S.

“It’s an exciting time for Advanced Disposal,” said Advanced Disposal Chairman and CEO Charlie Appleby. “We have the office space to grow now.  And we are well on our way to becoming the most trusted provider of environmental services in the United States.”

Since Advanced Disposal moved in to the 56,000 square foot office space at the end of December, the company has added 74 new and out-of-state transferred jobs to the corporate headquarters with an overall financial impact of $22,291,653 to St. Johns County and an overall State of Florida impact of $75,325,640 including all operational expenses, community fees and taxes and payroll.

Governor Scott said, “In addition to keeping and expanding its headquarters in our state, Advanced Disposal has grown to become the largest privately-owned environmental services company in the nation. This great accomplishment sends a strong message to the rest of nation that IT’S WORKING in Florida. We have created the most business-friendly climates in the U.S., and more than 330,000 private-sector jobs have been created here in a little over two years.”

Advanced Disposal worked in conjunction with Enterprise Florida, JAXUSA and St. Johns County to obtain a competitive financial incentive package for the corporate headquarters location.  Other cities considered included Atlanta, Ga.; Charlotte, N.C.; and Milwaukee, Wis.
