Advanced Disposal Upgrades Jacksonville North and West Side Residents' Curbside Recycling Program Starting March 7th
Each resident will receive a new 96-gallon, wheeled recycling cart.
Advanced Disposal, an integrated environmental services company, announces an upgrade for its Jacksonville north and west side customers (in select zip codes) to 96-gallon, wheeled carts for their curbside recycling service, at no additional cost to residents. Carts are being delivered to homes now through March 7.
“We are pleased to upgrade your recycling program in north and west side Jacksonville communities. The new 96-gallon, wheeled carts offer more storage capacity while allowing residents to recycle more items … all leading to a cleaner and greener city,” stated District Manager, Todd Strong. “Just toss your recyclables into the cart, roll them to the curb and you’re done – it’s that easy!”
Beginning the week of March 7, residents are to place their recyclables in the provided recycling carts for every other week curbside collection. Accepted recyclables can be mixed together in the cart. Carts reduce the amount of recycling that is blown by the wind or disturbed by animals, and it takes up no more floor space than two 18-gallon recycling bins due to its height. See a full listing of acceptable recyclable items and collection guidelines at http://www.coj.net/departments/public-works/solid-waste.aspx.
Key changes and benefits to the recycling collection program include the following:
• 96-gallon wheeled carts for recycling storage and collection
• Recyclable collection will only be every other week, not weekly
• Increased storage space for recyclable materials translates to higher recycling volumes
• All acceptable recyclable items can be placed in the cart with no sorting required
• Reduced litter due to lidded carts and less blowing plastics and paper
After 6:00 p.m. on March 4, 2016 , please visit http://630city.coj.net/SWPickup.aspx to view your collection schedule.
