Advanced Disposal’s (NYSE: ADSW) Arbor Hills Landfill in Salem Township announced the hiring of a new general manager and an environmental manager to join the site’s management team.
Robert ‘Bob’ Walls recently relocated to the area from Ohio to serve as the landfill’s general manager. An industry veteran who has managed landfill sites around the country since 1990, Walls will be in charge of safety and environmental operations at the 450-acre site, responsible for general management. He brings significant experience to the challenges of running a large landfill site. Walls’ previous posts include landfill site management for Mid-American Waste Management, Republic Services, Progressive Waste Solutions and others.
Michigan native Antonio Testa is Arbor Hills’ new environmental manager. The Canton resident comes to Arbor Hills with nearly a decade of landfill environmental experience with Golder Associates in Farmington Hills, where he managed construction quality assurance for landfill gas collection systems and landfill cell construction. He earned bachelor’s degrees in architecture and civil engineering from Lawrence Technical University in Southfield.
Testa’s primary role at Arbor Hills will be to supervise environmental compliance issues on site. Additionally, Testa will assist Arbor Hills’ supervisors with day-to-day operational activities which include: support to ensure quality performance; execution of necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with the company and other standard regulations; formulation of short-term and long-term goals and action plans with the management team; and interaction with state agencies to ensure customer satisfaction and improved efficiency.
“We are excited to welcome Bob and Antonio to our team,” said Regional Manager Kelly Rooney. “Arbor Hills is transforming to meet changing needs in our community, and we needed the kind of expertise these two professionals bring to the challenge.”
