Lexington County Curbside garbage service - Pickup once per week.
- Place your cart curbside by 6:30 a.m. of your scheduled garbage collection day.
- Garbage is defined as all waste, food, paper, plastic, leather, textiles, cans, and/or any other materials normally associated with common household waste. Garbage does not include industrial waste, commercial waste, hazardous materials, construction materials, dirt, rocks, bricks, concrete, clippings from commercial tree cutters, dead animals, large amounts of animal waste or any product considered to be petroleum, oil or lubricant based .
- Household garbage is not to be mixed with yard trash, otherwise the resident will have to pay a municipal solid waste tipping fee at the current going rate.
- Medically verified disabled residents may request back yard service at no additional charge.
- Non-disabled resident may request back yard service for an additional fee. No pets or other obstacles may block access to the garbage.
Curbside recycling service - Pickup once per week.
- Glass must be separated from all other recycling materials. No other materials are to be separated.
- Broken glass is not to be recycled.
- Acceptable items for recycling include #1 and #7 (bottles, jugs and jars only), plastic bottles and jugs, corrugated cardboard flattened or cut into pieces smaller than 2' x 2', glass bottles and jars, metal and aluminum cans, newspapers and magazines.
- Glass must be separated by color (green, brown and clear).
- DO NOT place the following in recycling bins: plastic bags, butter tubs and lids, wet newspapers, pizza boxes, juice and milk cartons, egg cartons, Styrofoam trays, paperboard cereal boxes, hardback books, office paper, toys, aluminum foil, pie plates, clothes hangers, broken glass and mirrors, motor oil containers, auto parts, pool and other chemical containers, aerosol cans, window glass, or yard waste.
- Recyclables are not to be mixed with other household garbage, otherwise the resident will have to pay a municipal solid waste tipping fee at the current going rate.
Curbside yard waste service - Pickup once per week.
- Place your items curbside by 6:30 a.m. of your scheduled collection day.
- Residents are encouraged to bag, containerize or bundle leaves, weeds, grass clippings, shrub clippings, straw and other such matter. Limbs are not to exceed 4' in length and 4" in diameter. Any one bag of yard waste is not to exceed 60 gallons.
- Yard waste should not be placed in the roll-cart.
- The amount of yard waste to be picked up in any one-week period is limited to four cubic feet (two truck hoppers of yard waste).
