Richland County Curbside garbage service - Pickup once per week.
- Place your cart curbside by 7:00 a.m. of your scheduled garbage collection day, unless handicapped or residing more than 300 feet off the public road. Garbage in excess of the capacity of the cart must be bagged or containerized.
- Garbage is defined as all waste food, paper, glass, plastic, leather, textiles, cans, and/or any other materials normally associated with common household wastes. Garbage does not include industrial/commercial waste, hazardous materials, construction materials (except incidental to the normal upkeep of a household by the occupant), dirt, rocks, bricks, concrete blocks, commercial tree cutter refuse, dead animals, tires, batteries, vehicle parts, used oil, oil filters, paints and any other product considered petroleum, oil or lubricant based.
- Household waste may not be mixed with yard waste or recyclables.
- Residents are to ensure that waste weighs less than 200 lbs.
- Service will be suspended on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Such collection will be picked up the next day.
Curbside recycling service - Pickup once per week.
- Acceptable items for recycling include corrugated cardboard, magazines, glossy office paper, mixed colors (no stickies or plastic windows), newspapers and all inserts, aerosol cans, metal food cans, aluminum cans, #1 and #2 plastic bottles and jars, and glass bottles.
- DO NOT place the following in recycling bins: plastic bags, butter tubs and lids, wet newspapers, pizza boxes, juice and milk cartons, egg cartons, Styrofoam trays, paperboard cereal boxes, hardback books, office paper, toys, aluminum foil, pie plates, clothes hangers, broken glass and mirrors, motor oil containers, auto parts, pool and other chemical containers, aerosol cans, window glass, or yard waste.
Curbside yard waste service - Pickup once per week.
- Place your items curbside by 7:00 a.m. of your scheduled collection day.
- Yard waste is defined as accumulations of grass, leaves, small tree branches, shrubs, vines and other small debris from maintenance of lawns, shrubs, gardens and trees on residential property.
- Yard-waste bags are provided by the town. Residents are to bag tree trimmings, grass clippings and leaves. Tree branches and heavy brush are to be stacked in a compact pile at the curbside and are not to exceed 4’ in length and 4" in diameter.
- Excessive amounts of yard waste generated by land clearing and/or entire tree removal are not included in this definition.
Curbside bulk items collection - Bulk items will be picked up if placed curbside by the customer during the week beginning with the second Monday of each month. Residents are to remove doors from large appliances, such as refrigerators, prior to pick-up. Please call 803-256-7276 to schedule service.
