Important Information for Albion Township Residents

Albion Residents: The 2017 Collection Calendar has an error in service weeks for combined trash and recycle service week collections. The recycle and trash will be on the same day that they have been since January. There is no change to your collection days or week. Your next recycle pick up will be next week, and then every other week thereafter. Trash collection will be every week.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your patience.

SLOW DOWN TO GET AROUND

Be safe around garbage trucks. Being struck by motorists is a leading cause of death for waste and recycling collection employees. When you see a truck on route and your garbage man or woman hard at work, remember to Slow Down To Get Around.

This is state law in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, West Virginia and Wisconsin. For more information, visit beginwiththebin.org/slowdown

Guidelines for Commercial Garbage Service

All Containers

Containers must not be blocked and trucks must have access to provide service.

Please make sure waste is contained, within safe capacity levels and not overflowing. Drivers may not be able to service overloaded containers.

Please do not place any hazardous materials in container. This includes: any waste solid or liquid waste material resulting from the manufacturing or use of pesticides, highly flammable or explosive wastes, caustic wastes, toxic wastes, and any other material that the Health Authority determines to be a likely hazard to the public health, safety or environment.

Containers must be placed and remain on a hard, level surface and must be secure.

The placement of enclosures and containers can have a direct effect on safety.  An improperly placed enclosure or container may lead to accident, injury, or property damage.  Check with your Advanced Disposal representative to ensure safe placement.

Additional Guidelines for Roll-off Containers

Containers may not be loaded above the top of the container and the weight must be evenly distributed.

Thirty (30) yard containers may not be used for concrete, dirt, stumps, bricks or any other heavy materials.

HIGH STANDARDS. HAPPY CUSTOMERS.

  • When our recycling man had to dump the front loader into the back, a few items fell out on our lawn. We live 3 miles out of town, so we get trash thrown on our lawn from time to time from people driving past us. So, since it was only a couple small things, I thought for sure he would just leave them there. But I was pleasantly surprised when he sprinted out and picked it all up. Greatly appreciated!

  • Jacob collected my trash on Saturday and went above and beyond what would be expected. He not only helped me bring things out of my garage, but he asked if I wanted to move my car out and then proceeded to back his truck up to my garage so we didn't have to drag it all out. He was kind, helpful and a pleasure to talk to. I so appreciate everything he did to help me out. What a great way to start my Saturday, with an unexpected helping hand and friendly conversation.

We cannot tell you how reassuring it is to know we can count on Advanced Disposal to fulfill our needs for these extra services and containers. We were very pleased with the efficient and courteous service provided by your container delivery personnel: Tom Rockstrah, Wally Jaquith and Brad Benedict.
