You're A Subscription Customer If...

Guidelines for Curbside Garbage Service

Curbside Garbage Service

  • Garbage must be placed curbside the night before collection day, or prior to 7 a.m. on the scheduled day of collection.
  • Garbage must be placed inside carts provided.

Curbside Recycling Service

  • Recyclables must be placed curbside the night before, or prior to 7 a.m. on the scheduled day of collection.
  • Recycling must be placed inside carts provided.
  • See recycle right for helpful ideas on what to recycle.

Cart Placement Instructions

  • Your cart should be within 18 inches of the curb with the arrows on the lid pointing to the street/curb.
  • To avoid damage to property, place the cart at least three feet away from mailboxes, lamp posts and other fixed objects.
  • Place your cart on a level service as possible, but away from low- hanging tree branches.
  • Place recycling carts at least three feet away from garbage carts.
  • Close lids prior to pick-up. Lids should be closed on the carts in order to stop material from spilling or blowing.

What is NOT accepted in your trash or recycle carts:

  • Yard Waste: grass clippings, garden foliage, leaves, clean wood (untreated, unpainted), brush, soil, brick, building stone, concrete, reinforced concrete, broken pavement and asphalt.
  • Hazardous Waste: flammable liquids, oil-based paints, solvents, varnishes, thinners, fluorescent bulbs, household batteries, acids and bases, old gasoline, pesticides and herbicides, cleaners, aerosols, poisons antifreeze, reactive (typically pool chemicals).
  • Freon Items: air conditioner, dehumifer, refrigerators or freezers.
  • Concrete, Brick, Tires
  • Electronics: fax machines, computer monitors, computer accessories, cells phones, DVD players, VCR, televisions
  • Microwaves

Bulk Items and e-Waste

  • Items that do not fit in your container and electronic waste can be dropped off at 2905 Paine Ave., Sheboygan for a fee. Or residents can call Advanced Disposal to arrange for pickup for a fee. To schedule a pickup, call (888) 688-4005.
Holiday Schedule

Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day

Routes will be pushed back by one day following a holiday
For example, if Christmas Day is Tuesday and your normal service day is Wednesday, you will be serviced on Thursday. Customers who are normally serviced on Friday of that week will be serviced on Saturday.

Guidelines for Commercial Garbage Service

All Containers

Containers must not be blocked and trucks must have access to provide service. 

Please make sure waste is contained, within safe capacity levels and not overflowing. Drivers may not be able to service overloaded containers. 

Please do not place any hazardous materials in container. This includes: any waste solid or liquid waste material resulting from the manufacturing or use of pesticides, highly flammable or explosive wastes, caustic wastes, toxic wastes, and any other material that the Health Authority determines to be a likely hazard to the public health, safety or environment. 

Containers must be placed and remain on a hard, level surface and must be secure. 

The placement of enclosures and containers can have a direct effect on safety.  An improperly placed enclosure or container may lead to accident, injury, or property damage.  Check with your Advanced Disposal representative to ensure safe placement.

Additional Guidelines for Roll-off Containers

Containers may not be loaded above the top of the container and the weight must be evenly distributed. 

Thirty (30) yard containers may not be used for concrete, dirt, stumps, bricks or any other heavy materials. 

Twenty (20) yard containers must be used for very heavy loads and may be filled only half full.  

Preferred maximum weight of 20,000 lbs. varies by state regulations.

Electronics Recycling

How to Recycle Electronics in Wisconsin

Many electronics can no longer be put in the trash in Wisconsin and must be reused, recycled or managed as hazardous waste. Follow this link for information that will help you prepare your electronics for reuse or recycling, find an electronics collection site or contact a recycler for larger volumes of e-waste.

Advanced Disposal can also help you recycle your unwanted electronics for drop off only. Please call our office at 1-888-688-4005 for information on cost and drop off times.

Electronic items are prohibited from being placed in any containers rented through Advanced Disposal.
