Guidelines for Curbside Garbage Service

Please have your waste and recycling curbside prior to 7 a.m. on your normal day of service.

CURBSIDE GARBAGE COLLECTION GUIDELINES
  • Collection twice per week in the provided 95-gallon cart.
  • Place garbage curbside prior to 7 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
  • Cart should be placed within five feet (5’) of, and in no case more than ten feet (10’) from the street, roadway, or alley.
  • Cart should also be placed a minimum of three feet (3’) away from obstructions such as cars, trees, mailboxes, utility boxes and poles, fire hydrants, water meters, sprinkler heads, yard waste, bulk items and other carts. 
CURBSIDE RECYCLING COLLECTION GUIDELINES
  • Collection once per week in the provided 65-gallon cart.
  • Place recycling curbside prior to 7 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
  • Cart should be placed within five feet (5’) of, and in no case more than ten feet (10’) from the street, roadway, or alley.
  • Cart should also be placed a minimum of three feet (3’) away from obstructions such as cars, trees, mailboxes, utility boxes and poles, fire hydrants, water meters, sprinkler heads, yard waste, bulk items and other carts. 

ACCEPTABLE ITEMS FOR RECYCLING INCLUDE:
  • Plastics #1-2 and #4-7
  • Aluminum, metal or steel food containers
  • Cardboard (cut down to 2'x3') and fiber board
  • Cartons
  • Glass
  • Paper

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED FOR COLLECTION INCLUDE:
  • Electronics
  • Ceramics and dishes
  • Food waste
  • Yard waste
  • Batteries
  • Hazardous waste or waste containers
  • Light bulbs
  • Mirrors
  • Window glass
  • Hard cover books
  • Plastics #3 (PVC pipe)
  • Syringes or medical waste
  • Styrofoam
  • Aerosol containers
  • Propane tanks
  • Plastic grocery bags

CURBSIDE YARD WASTE COLLECTION GUIDELINES
  • Collection once per week.
  • Place yard waste curbside prior to 7 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
  • Tree limbs, tree trunks, palm fronds, etc., must be cut in lengths no greater than 5' and be less than 6" in diameter.
  • No single item shall exceed 50 lbs.
  • Cart should be placed within five feet (5’) of, and in no case more than ten feet (10’) from the street, roadway, or alley.
  • Cart should also be placed a minimum of three feet (3’) away from obstructions such as cars, trees, mailboxes, utility boxes and poles, fire hydrants, water meters, sprinkler heads, yard waste, bulk items and other carts. 

CURBSIDE BULK WASTE COLLECTION GUIDELINES
Your service day may change. Be sure to keep an eye out for a postcard with more details coming in the mail.
  • Collection once per week.
  • Place bulk waste curbside prior to 7 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
  • Cart should be placed within five feet (5’) of, and in no case more than ten feet (10’) from the street, roadway, or alley.
  • Cart should also be placed a minimum of three feet (3’) away from obstructions such as cars, trees, mailboxes, utility boxes and poles, fire hydrants, water meters, sprinkler heads, yard waste, bulk items and other carts. 
Holiday Schedule
THERE WILL BE NO PICKUP ON THE FOLLOWING HOLIDAYS.
New Year’s Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
ROUTES WILL BE PUSHED BACK BY ONE DAY FOLLOWING A HOLIDAY.
For example, if a holiday is on Monday and your normal service day is Wednesday, you will be serviced on Thursday. Customers who are normally serviced on Friday will be serviced on Saturday.
