Project Updates

Project Update:

We are now in the final phases of our construction project completion.  We recently replaced some of the curbing and a portion of the front apron. The new storm drains have been installed and connected to the City’s system. (This portion of the project was delayed due to permit issues.) Over the next few weeks, we will continue doing concrete work and replacing asphalt.  The contractors will do one side of the driveway at a time. This will allow the concrete time to properly cure prior to re-introducing truck traffic. Once the concrete is completed, the landscaping project will take place. Our estimation is that both of these phases will be completed in July. The final enhancement to the facility this year will be to add a tarping station on site to make it easier for drivers to prepare the loads of material for shipping.

Misting System/Deodorizer Updates:

In the spring of 2018 we upgraded and added to our misting system. In previous years, the misting system/deodorizer, was only present above the transfer station doors where the traffic enters and exits the building. We have added to the misting system by placing new lines inside the building as well. These new lines now cover the area inside the building where the material is being loaded into trailers as well as areas on the main tipping floor where the material is dumped from inbound customers. These system upgrades will further assist in minimizing odors generated during the course of our operations.  We recently removed a pit scale inside the building that would periodically create noise during the cleaning process. As a result of enhancements made to the loading equipment, this pit scale is no longer necessary.
