Blackfoot Landfill is an MSW landfill that was started in the 1988. The facility is permitted by the Indiana Department of the Environment Management and has no volume limit by permit. The facility currently accepts an average of 2100 tons per day. Municipal Solid Waste, Construction and Demolition Debris, Municipal and Industrial Sewage Sludges, asbestos, and residual wastes are received for disposal. The facility offers solidification as an additional service. At current volumes the facility has airspace to 2039. The facility also has a Gas-to-Energy plant onsite and supplies nearly 28% of electricity to Pike County, Indiana residents powering 1,357 homes.
The facility is included has contracts with residual waste generators in Indiana and surrounding states and accepts waste from Advanced Disposal subsidiaries and third party companies.
