Guidelines for Curbside Garbage Service

Curbside garbage service 
Pickup is once per week, in Advanced Disposal provided cart.
Personal cans or carts will not be collected.
 
Carts must be placed curbside the night before collection day after 6:00p.m, or prior to 7:00a.m. on the scheduled day of collection.
 
Carts to be placed more than three (3) feet away from any other objects such as parked cars, light poles, mailboxes and other carts.
 
Place garbage and recycle carts on opposite sides of the driveway.
 
Garbage that will not fit within the cart (lid closed), may be placed in city emblem blue bags and set beside the cart for collection. At such time blue city emblem bags are no longer available, customers may contact our office at 800-778-7652 or 660-773-5459 to schedule and pay for an extra pickup for the additional, or to add an additional cart to their service.
 
Trash not placed curbside prior to collection of the customers side of the street will be required to wait until the next scheduled collection day. We will not return to collect trash not placed at curb prior to collection on scheduled day.
 
Please report any Missed Pickups to 660-773-5459 or 800-778-7652 by 10:00 a.m. the following business day for collection to take place same day.
 
Carts should be removed from the curb by 6:00pm the day of scheduled collection. Carts may not be kept in the front yard or side yards that abut a roadway, except during approved trash pickup hours.
 
Sharps are accepted as long as the needle is capped and placed within an acceptable sharps container (empty plastic detergent bottle or coffee container acceptable), must include your name and address on the outside of the container.
 
ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED in carts include: Hazardous waste, biomedical waste, special waste, construction, demolition or remodeling material, yard trash, tires, paints, paint solvents, unemptied aerosol cans, propane tanks, compressed gas cylinders, large engine parts, small engines containing oils or fuels, chemicals, large glass panes, large tree debris, stumps, ammunition of any type, dead animals larger than 10lbs, firearms, any waste that would cause a violation of any permit condition, legal or regulatory requirement, substantial damage to vehicles, equipment or facilities, or present a substantial danger to health or safety of the public or employees and any waste prohibited for disposal by local, federal or state law, regulation, rule, code, ordinance, order permit or permit condition.
 
EXTRA BAGS - customers may arrange to have a special pick up of bags in addition to their cart collection, $25.00 per hopper load (approximately 14-32 gallon bags or 2yds), not to exceed 4yds. These fees must be paid at the time of request by customer, prior to scheduling the collection. Collection of these bags will take place on the customers next scheduled collection day.
 
Multi-Family (R-3 zoned) apartments with three units or more may elect to have a dumpster in place of trash collection. This service will be directly negotiated between the property owner and Advanced Disposal. These units are still eligible for the recycling and bulk options provided to residential and non-containerized commercial customers.
 
Downtown locked convenience centers.
 
Customers sign up and are assigned a designated convenience center through the city. 
Containers will be available in different locations throughout downtown. 
This service is provided in lieu of an individual trash cart due to downtown space constraints. 
Weekly trash must not exceed 95 gallons or this may require individual dumpster rental. 
No large bulky items to be placed within the dumpster. 
Must close lid fully so container locks after each use.
 
Downtown shared building and container.
 
Residential units downtown using a dumpster assigned to a customer within the same building , may receive trash fee exemption if the property owner provides a letter that the occupant of the same building has access to a dumpster.
 
Walkup service is available for customers with a physical disability.
 
Must have a physician fill out, sign and submit a Physical Disability form
To qualify:
Resident must be unable to transport trash to curb for collection.  
No one may reside or help within the home capable of transporting trash to the curb for collection.

Curbside recycling service 
There is no additional charge to participate in the recycle program.
Residents and non-containerized commercial customers must sign up to participate in the recycling program.
 
Pickup is bi-weekly in the provided 65-gallon cart.
 
Collection will take place on same day as regular collection on scheduled bi-weekly days.
 
1-65 gallon Advanced Disposal cart will be provided per unit signing up for the Recycling program.
 
Residential and non-containerized commercial requiring a 2nd cart for collection may obtain one for an additional $5.00 per month.
 
Carts must be placed curbside the night before collection day after 6:00p.m, or prior to 7:00a.m. on the scheduled day of collection.
 
Items that do not fit within the cart should be placed in clear bags and set beside the cart with the exception of newspaper and cardboard. Newspaper and cardboard maybe broken down, tied and bundled and placed next to cart to conserve space in cart for additional recyclables. No intact boxes will be accepted.
 
Cart should be placed in an area with a three (3) foot clearance on all sides.

Trash will not be accepted within a recycle cart and will be left curbside for correction and will be collected on the next scheduled day. Customers abusing the recycle program by placing trash within their carts will not be allowed to participate in the recycle program.
 
All items must be clean, dry and free of food debris.
 
Shredded paper must be bagged separately and secured for collection.
 
Items accepted for pickup include: Plastics #1 & #2, aluminum cans, chipboard (food boxes), steel cans, mixed paper (junk mail, catalogs, etc.), tin cans (food cans), newspaper, grocery bags, and corrugated cardboard.
 
Items NOT accepted for pickup include: Pizza boxes (with direct contact to food), toilet paper or paper towels, diapers, feminine products, paper plates, food debris/unclean items, loose shredded paper, Styrofoam, glass, yard waste (leaves, tree limbs, grass, etc.), clothing, lumber or other building materials.
 
To report a missed collected or service issue, please contact us within 24 hours of your scheduled collection at 660-773-5459 or 800-778-7652. Failure to report missed pickups within 24 hours may delay the collection to the next scheduled collection day as this is a bi-weekly service.
 
Carts tagged regarding issues with recycling placed at the curb may be left for the needed corrections. Customers must make the correction and place the cart at the curb for the next scheduled day of collection.
 
Downtown Convenience Centers will be in designated areas downtown. Residential and non-containers commercial customers paying for trash convenience centers and or personal dumpsters and carts in the downtown area is eligible for this service.

 

Yard waste service 

Not accepted curbside.

Moberly Public Works Facility is available for yard waste drop off located at 2300 N Morley St.

Bulk waste service 

One Large Bulk item at no additional charge will be collected curbside on garbage collection day.

Downtown residential and non-containerized commercial customers will need to call to schedule collection of their bulk item by 2:00pm the day prior to when they would like the item collected due to space constraints in the downtown area.

Customers are not required to call bulk items in, unless they are paying for additional items, or need to report a missed item.

Bulk item must be placed curbside the night before collection day after 6:00p.m, or prior to 7:00a.m. on the scheduled day of collection.

If bulk item is not able to be collected by the regular garbage collection driver, the driver shall report this item and it will be collected by another truck within 24hours (Monday-Friday).

Bulk Waste means discarded items that are larger than three (3) feet in any dimension, and/or heavier than fifty (50) pounds in weight, and/or otherwise will not fit within an empty Cart, thus too large or too bulky to be collected. All items that fit within the cart, must be placed within the cart.

Bulk items must not exceed a size and weight that is not manageable by two people.

Additional bags or cans filled with household trash do not qualify as a bulk item.

Bulk items accepted include but not limited to items such as: microwaves, computers, answering machines, printers, copiers, televisions, mattresses, box springs, indoor/outdoor furniture, swing sets, plastic swimming pools, large toys, bicycles, fish aquariums, sofas, chairs, tables, carpets, grills and other similar items.

Additional Items: Additional bulk items are available for collection for a per additional item fee (call us for rates and schedule), or multiple bulk items collected for $25.00 per hopper (approximately 2yds). These fees must be paid at the time of request, prior to scheduling the collection.

Appliance Collection

Collection will take place twice per year.
 
3rd Monday in May
3rd Monday in September
 
Customer must call by 2:00pm on Friday prior to the scheduled Monday collection.
 
Service Fees for White Goods
 
$10.00 each Non Freon Appliance
 
$25.00 each Freon Appliance
 
Appliance must be placed curbside the night before the scheduled collection day after 6:00p.m, or prior to 7:00a.m. on the scheduled day of collection.
 
It is responsibility of the resident to insure that prior to disposal, all appliances are empty of all foods and liquids.
 
Doors must be removed from freezers and refrigerators and placed beside the appliance for collection.
 
CFCs and PCBs must be evacuated and captured by a certified technician in accordance with all applicable laws. If technician supplies proof of evacuation, this must be taped to the appliance prior to collection.
 
Appliances Include: refrigerators, ranges, water heaters, freezers, dishwashers, trash compactors, washers, dryers, air conditioners, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, water softeners and commercial large appliances.
Holiday Schedule

There will be no pickup on the following holidays:
New Year's Day
Martin Luther King Jr Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day

Routes will be pushed back by one day following a holiday. For example, if Christmas Day is Tuesday and your normal service day is Wednesday, you will be serviced on Thursday. Customers who are normally serviced on Friday of that week will be serviced on Saturday.  If a holiday falls on a weekend, there will be no delay of service.
