Advanced Disposal's Bag Ladies to Sing the Song of Recycling at Sunday's Concert on the Green
ORANGE PARK, Fla.
Advanced Disposal’s Beautiful Bag Ladies will take part in Sunday’s 2010 Concert on the Green by collecting event attendees’ recyclables and teaching them about the importance of recycling to keep our community beautiful, which is music to everyone’s ears.
“Advanced Disposal prides itself on being clean and green, so it’s only fitting that our beautiful Bag Ladies will be at the Concert on the Green to promote recycling while everyone picnics,” said Mary O’Brien, chief marketing officer for Advanced Disposal. “While folks enjoy the beautiful music to support our local music and arts programs, we encourage them to look out for the ladies in blue when they have a plastic bottle or aluminum can to discard.”
The Bag Ladies will be at the Concert on the Green taking place at St. Johns River Community College from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. this Sunday, May 30. The plastic bottles they collect can be turned into thousands of yards of carpet and even fleece jackets and sleeping bags. Aluminum cans are recycled into lawn chairs, construction products, and cars.
Event attendees can enjoy music from the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra along with exhibitions, children’s activities, skydivers and lots of delicious food and picnicking to benefit Clay County Schools’ music and art programs. This year’s concert will be held in front of the St. John's River Community College at 283 College Dr. in Orange Park, Fla. Gates open at 4 p.m. and the Jacksonville Symphony performs at 8 p.m.
