Advanced Disposal's Emerald Park Landfill Receives Prestigious Corporate Lands for Learning Designation From Wildlife Habitat Council
Advanced Disposal, an integrated environmental services company, is pleased to announce that Emerald Park Landfill in Muskego, Wis., recently was certified a Corporate Lands for Learning (CLL) site by the Wildlife Habitat Council. Emerald Park Landfill is the first Advanced Disposal facility to earn this highly sought designation.
CLL-certified corporate sites such as Emerald Park Landfill provide experiential, site-based learning opportunities by using their habitats to explore ecological concepts and the human role in conservation. The CLL designation recognizes Emerald Park Landfill’s efforts to foster environmental awareness, enhance the natural habitat, and increase biodiversity on the site.
“By engaging local students, scouts and community groups through educational sessions and hands-on projects that focus on stewardship of habitats near to them, we are using our site to nurture a lifelong appreciation for and commitment to the environment as well as a sense of empowerment that as individuals they can make a difference,” said Chris G. Rooney, Advanced Disposal region manager.
