Advanced Disposal, an integrated environmental services company, late Monday afternoon completed the acquisition of the assets of Valdosta Waste Services, further expanding the company’s South Georgia footprint.
The assets purchased include trucks, containers and customer contracts including seven municipal contracts adding approximately 7,000 new residential customers and a total of eight (8) residential and commercial collection routes. This acquisition expands the company’s operations within the cities of Quitman, Berlin, Alapaha, Nashville, Ocilla, and Pearson, Georgia, and the counties of Echols, Lowndes, Brooks, Thomas, Cook, Lanier, Berrien, Atkinson, Colquitt and Irwin, Georgia. The majority of operational staff transitioned to Advanced Disposal. The collection operations will be managed from Advanced Disposal’s existing Valdosta hauling company located at 1101 Hawkins Street and non-recycled waste materials will be safely disposed of within the company’s Evergreen Landfill also located in Valdosta.
“Georgia has always been a state of great opportunity for Advanced Disposal” stated Charlie Gray, Advanced Disposal’s South Region Vice President. “Our first acquisition that started the company in late 2000 was in Georgia, and it is exciting to see continued growth and success throughout all areas of the state both through organic growth and through quality acquisitions such as Valdosta Waste. We appreciate the strong business Valdosta Waste has built and look forward to serving our newest commercial and residential customers with quality care and environmental stewardship.”
