Advanced Disposal’s Kathryne Caprood was honored today as a 2015-2016 Women’s Council Scholarship recipient by National Waste & Recycling Association (NW&RA) in Las Vegas, Nev. as part of the 47th annual WasteExpo Conference and Exhibition.

Scholarship recipients completed an application process, including an essay, about their pursuit of an education that will lead to productive careers in the environmental industry. Caprood, daughter of Advanced Disposal’s Old Kings Landfill General Manager Paul Caprood, is one of three scholarship recipients. Upon graduation from Darnell Cookman High School in Jacksonville, Fla, Caprood will attend Florida State College at Jacksonville for one year before transferring to the University of North Florida.

“Kathryne’s academic accomplishments and work ethic made her an excellent candidate for this recognition,” said Advanced Disposal Chief Marketing Officer Mary O’Brien. “We are very proud of her and thrilled for her to continue her education in environmental sciences and hopefully join the Advanced Disposal team one day.”

NW&RA is the trade association that represents the United States’ private sector waste and recycling services industry.
