Originally opened in 1970, Mallard Ridge Landfill accepts MSW, C&D, non-hazardous industrial wastes and asbestos. The facility accepts an average of 1,100 tons per day and has approximately 8 -12 years of life expectancy. Methane from the site is flared. Leachate from the site is collected via a force main and sent to a wastewater treatment plant for treatment. Mallard Ridge Landfill is located in Darien Township and Walworth County. Host fees are paid to Darien Township.
This facility is permitted to accept waste from all counties in Wisconsin and surrounding states and accepts waste from Advanced Disposal subsidiaries and third party companies.
