Happy Thanksgiving! To give our team members time with family and friends, there will be no service on Thursday, November 22, 2018.  Collection will be delayed by 1 day the remainder of the week with Friday Residential services being completed on Saturday November 24, 2018. Our office will also be closed, but will reopen for normal business hours on Friday, November 23. From our family to yours, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!

You're A Subscription Customer If...
you choose your service provider. Please find our garbage guidelines and holiday schedule below.
 
Guidelines for Curbside Garbage Service
Curbside garbage service 
  • Pickup once per week. 
  • Household Garbage must be contained in bags or cans not to exceed 32 gallons in capacity or 60lbs in weight
  • Garbage must be placed curbside the night before collection day, or prior to 6:30 a.m. on the scheduled day of collection. 
  • Place all garbage in provided cart. Place cart at least 3 feet away from any other object such as mailbox, car, other cart, etc. 
  • Items NOT accepted for pickup include: hazardous waste, special waste, E-Waste, tires, liquid waste and other materials which require special handling and disposal.
Curbside recycling service   
  • Pickup once per week. 
  • Recyclables must be placed curbside the night before, or prior to 6:30a.m. on the scheduled day of collection.
  • Items accepted for pickup include: Bi-metal and aluminum cans, plastics #1- #7, corrugated cardboard, newsprint and magazines, clear, green and brown container glass. 
Up-the-Drive garbage service 
  • Pickup once per week. 
  • Household Garbage must be contained in bags or cans none to exceed 32 gallons in capacity or 60lbs in weight
  • Garbage must be placed on an accessible part of the driveway the night before collection day, or prior to 6:30 a.m. on the scheduled day of collection. 
  • Items NOT accepted for pickup include: hazardous waste, special waste, E-Waste and other materials which require special handling and disposal.
Up-the-Drive recycling service   
  • Pickup once per week. 
  • Recyclables must be placed on an accessible part of the driveway the night before, or prior to 6:30a.m. on the scheduled day of collection.
  • Items accepted for pickup include: Bi-metal and aluminum cans, pots and pans; glass bottles and jars;plastics (liquids out, caps on) #1, #2, #4, #5 and #7; paper, cardboard, food boxes and cartons.  For a comprehensive list, please visit www.waukeshacounty.gov/householdrecycling
Bulk waste service 
  • Bulk waste pickup must be scheduled in advance for a fee-please call office for cost and to arrange pick up.   
  • Bulk waste must be placed curbside the night before, or prior to 6:30 a.m. on the scheduled day of collection. 
  • Bulky items such as furniture will be collected; other bulky items such as Freon/non-Freon appliances, and building material will be collected on an on-call basis for a fee to be paid directly to Advanced Disposal
  • Items NOT accepted for pickup include: NO ELECTRONICS, tires or liquid waste. 
Holiday Schedule

Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day 

Routes will be pushed back by one day following a holiday
For example, if Christmas Day is Tuesday and your normal service day is Wednesday, you will be serviced on Thursday. Customers who are normally serviced on Friday of that week will be serviced on Saturday. 

 
You're A Commercial Customer If...

Guidelines for Commercial Garbage Service

All Containers

Containers must not be blocked and trucks must have access to provide service. 

Please make sure waste is contained, within safe capacity levels and not overflowing. Drivers may not be able to service overloaded containers. 

Please do not place any hazardous materials in container. This includes: any waste solid or liquid waste material resulting from the manufacturing or use of pesticides, highly flammable or explosive wastes, caustic wastes, toxic wastes, and any other material that the Health Authority determines to be a likely hazard to the public health, safety or environment. 

Containers must be placed and remain on a hard, level surface and must be secure. 

The placement of enclosures and containers can have a direct effect on safety.  An improperly placed enclosure or container may lead to accident, injury, or property damage.  Check with your Advanced Disposal representative to ensure safe placement.

Additional Guidelines for Roll-off Containers

Containers may not be loaded above the top of the container and the weight must be evenly distributed. 

Thirty (30) yard containers may not be used for concrete, dirt, stumps, bricks or any other heavy materials. 

Twenty (20) yard containers must be used for very heavy loads and may be filled only half full.  

Preferred maximum weight of 20,000 lbs. varies by state regulations.

Electronics Recycling

Waukesha County runs special collection events for electronics and appliances on the 2nd Saturday of every month, rotating between different municipal locations. Please visit www.waukeshacounty.gov/recycling for the Electronics & Appliance Collection Event schedule and list of acceptable items.

Household Hazardous Waste

Waukesha County operates 4 permanent household hazardous waste (HHW) drop-off sites for county residents in addition to special one-day collections. Please visit www.waukeshacounty.gov/hhw for more information.
