Cranberry Creek accepts MSW, CD, non-hazardous industrial waste, non-hazardous free liquid waste and asbestos. Cranberry Creek Landfill delivers 1,000 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of landfill gas to Ocean Spray in Wisconsin Rapids via a one-mile pipeline, which is used to fuel boilers in their cranberry juice production plant. Pricing for the methane is pro-rated on current natural gas rates. Cranberry Creek landfill sits in Wood County and was originally opened in 1970. The facility has an approximate 10- year life expectancy and host fees are paid to the city of Wisconsin Rapids, the Town of Sigel, and the Town of Seneca under one host agreement. Leachate is piped directly into the City of Wisconsin Rapids sewer system via a forced main.
This facility is permitted to accept waste from all counties in Wisconsin and surrounding states and accepts waste from Advanced Disposal subsidiaries and third party companies.
